Craig Green SS2017 Bonded Laced Trench Coat
“Challenging and reinterpreting the familiar”. Craig let this simple ideal guide his Spring 2017 season, which the oft-coy designer repeatedly teased was an exploration of tradition British wear. Classic British trench coats were now stitched together with sporadic and oft-kilter lacing, while patterns of traditional neckties now found themselves overlapped and interlaced into intricate tops and bottoms.
Due to a grant from GQ’s fashion fund, Craig Green found himself equipped with a higher budget than previous collections, and thus was able to explore a newfound breadth of intricacy when it came to construction. Among the most stirring results was this water repellant trench with functional laced stitching interwoven throughout. The arm can be undone, as styled on the runway. Made in the UK with greater attention to detail than the commercially available Vietnam-produced pieces.
Condition: 8/10. Small blemishes/signs of wear here and there. One of the belt loops on the backside is halfway detached - can easily be repaired.
