AW2004’s “Victim of the Crime” provides the most stirring and direct representation of Hedi’s paradigm shifting tenure at Dior Homme. The pants were tight, the belts were wide, and the coats were bold.  The runway dripped with sex appeal. The sounds of Pheonix pulsed above the models, while razor slim leathers and short, narrow lapel blazers clung to their swaying arms as they strolled nonchalantly through the stark runway. It was a perfect encapsulation of the Dior Homme man — thin, long haired, outlandish in his dress but understated and cooly confident in his attitude. Throughly unconcerned with what you think about him.

The motorcycle boots from Victim of The Crime are on the shortlist of most coveted footwear Hedi ever conceived. A reworking on the Hell Angel’s shitkickers into something sleek and luxurious. The shaft is tight, sliding effortlessly under the skinniest of jean hems while the bold, exposed zipper and thick suede assure they sacrifice none of their predecessors’ rugged, masculine appeal.

Condition: 7/10. Natural wear to the suede. Heel drag.
