Dior Homme AW2007 Jackson Pollock Blazer

Dior Homme AW2007 Jackson Pollock Blazer

“Navigate” was a fitting ending to Hedi’s tenure at Dior. Both a culmination and a crescendo — a refined streamlining of ideas he’d experimented with in the seasons which led up to it. Ostensibly a tribute to mod culture, the runway swarmed with slim, geometric mohairs, sharp military boots, various trenches and double breasted coats, all imbued with a noticeable formal slant. That distinct intersection of youth culture and mature tailoring has always surfaced in Hedi’s finest work.

The Pollock blazer, done as a tribute to its namesake painter, was the focal point of the first look sent down the now iconic runway. A slim and striking three-button jacket that immediately assuaged any doubt as to whether Hedi remained at the apex of his powers as he approached the eve of his departure from Dior Homme. The slightly extended cut and micro check are a nod to the Mods of yesteryear. Made in a highly limited production, the paint atop is not a print, and has a three dimensional texture.
