Greg Lauren AW2016 Reconstructed Tent Moto Pants

Greg Lauren has emerged from the shadow of his household name father, the titan that is Ralph Lauren. From that shadow he brings many of the same ruggedly luxurious and quintessentially American silhouettes his father opts to use: fur parkas, bikers pants, and bomber jackets. Yet unlike the self-made man before him, Greg’s work exudes a comfort in luxury, clothes chosen for a man whose upbringing has made him see expensive pieces not as an expression of wealth, but a proof of fine craftsmanship and technique. He masterfully blends vintage fabrics, making every item legitimately 1 of 1 . Each different piece has slight variations from the rest, and their unique existence is hammered home by his trademark handwritten tags, which carefully lay out what each differing piece of fabric on the garment came from, and even what day it was finished.

These pants are from one of Lauren’s most heralded conceptualizations: a collection of pieces made of old military wear, notably including army tents. He leaves traces of the classic, skinny biker silhouette with heavy zips and a natural distressing, but around the familiar he weaves a complex, artisanal menagerie of vintage thermals, waffle swatches, and cotton fabrics.

Condition: 9/10. No significant flaws. All distressing is intentional.

Tagged size: 1. Fits around a 29, but can accommodate a range of sizes because of the elastic waistband. See measurements for reference.

Waist: 15in

Thigh: 12in

Inseam: 32in

Hem: 6in (elastic; can also be widened by the zippers)
