Undercover AW1998 Safety Orange "Small Parts" Coat

275.00

Jun Takahashi’s throughly documented “Small Parts” sub-collection was perhaps his first output to gain widespread notoriety, and select pieces were subsequently included in the Toyko Opera City Art Gallery’s retrospective on Undercover. Its notoriety can be attributed to the innovative modular freedom it allowed customers who owned multiple pieces. Each garment is fully interchangeable with other productions from the collection, allowing one to affix parts of knits, coats, puffers, and denim jackets to one another, and Frankenstein together their own unique outputs.

This coat, made up of nine different pieces, is especially notable for its safety orange colorway, which was highly in vogue with cutting edge designers at the turn of the millennium, including most famously Helmut Lang.
