Undercover AW2004 Destroyed Fur Bomber Jacket

550.00

It is widely known that Undercover’s AW2004 season was heavily influenced by the artist Ann-Valerie Dupond. Her style is most notably seen in the iconic monster parka, and matching pants. Furthermore, it borrowed from Patti Smith, whose music serenaded the runway. ‘04 can in turn be seen as an interpretation of Patti’s muse Ann Demeulemeester (note the long, untucked white shirts, unstructured blazers and victorian vests), her vision of romanticism processed through the lens of a precious Japanese Punk.

A staple piece of the collection was this heavily distressed fur bomber jacket. Its stiff, canvas cotton outer and fullly-lined fur inner carry a solid weight, making it an ideal fall/winter jacket. It’s carefully distressed, and like all of Jun’s destroyed pieces, none of the damage feels accidental or haphazard, but rather finely chosen to accentuate a feeling. With its heavy weight, and high-neck closure, the distressed hems and full-on separated strap at the bottom conjure thoughts of a long journey through harsh elements. A jacket that has lived to tell the tale.

Condition: 9/10. No significant flaws. All distressing is intentional.
