Undercover AW2004 Red Yarn 68 Denim

800.00

It is widely known that Undercover’s AW2004 season was heavily influenced by the artist Ann-Valerie Dupond. Her style is most notably seen in the iconic monster parka, and matching pants. Furthermore, it borrowed from Patti Smith, whose music serenaded the runway. ‘04 can in turn be seen as an interpretation of Patti’s muse Ann Demeulemeester (note the long, untucked white shirts, unstructured blazers and victorian vests), her vision of romanticism processed through the lens of a precious Japanese Punk.

The “68” Denim from ‘04 have persisted on as one of Jun’s most legendary outputs, and are known to be a wardrobe staple of the man himself. An amalgam of some of Undercover’s most unique and unimpeachable trademarks, they feature a variety of meticulous distressing techniques, including fading, shredding, crust-punk style repairs, and one tear sewed back together with a piece of red yarn.
