Undercover SS2003 "Scab" Military Forest Jacket

SS2003 “Scab” was Jun’s debut at Paris fashion week, where he established himself as both a visually gifted designer, and one with a unique point of view to express. It elevated the classic DIY punk look by focusing on tailoring in a way rarely considered by the original crafters of the aesthetic. Models stalked the runway in rebuilt clothing, with jagged stitches and hanging threads. Irregular silhouettes abounded, with tops draping loosely past their limbs, yet sticking tight to their torsos. In a full circle achievement, Jun won universal praise from the highest brow of fashion critics, for a sophisticated reconstruction of the DIY punk style he began his work doing.

This jacket features the visual stylings which were pervasive throughout the season. Jun employed several different prints that were not immediately indicative of any crust punk style, but felt like companions to the look. Though ostensibly a depiction of a forest, the jail stripes and jagged edges ascribe a sinister quality atypical of landscape imagery.
