Vivienne Westwood SS1993 Paisley Trucker Jacket

Vivienne Westwood SS1993 Paisley Trucker Jacket

$2,500.00

Vivienne Westwood’s spring 1993 work, “Grand Hotel,” was a baroque romp charged with cheeky sexuality. Staged in a ballroom setting, models lifted up their garments to expose their underwear, which was often merely a leaf à la Adam and Eve. The silks and golds and shimmering paisleys were on trend for what Westwood was experimenting with at the time, and were cut and pleated into stunning miniskirts, slit dresses, and cropped blazers.

This jacket's rich, gradient dye pattern atop a paisley floral print was seen across the season’s runway. The jacket’s silhouette is borrowed from the Levi’s Type II, a shape Vivienne often employed throughout the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.
