Raf Simons SS1999 Leopard Tank Top

Raf Simons SS1999 Leopard Tank Top

$365.00

Simons’s spring 1999 “Kinetic Youth” show eschewed the punk influences of his previous work to focus on tailoring. Simons claimed that, prior to embarking on the season, he postulated how to make such a thing cool to the type of teenager who had never worn a suit. His answer was shown on the runway, where cries of “we don’t need no education” from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” backdropped youth in Simons’s distinct tailoring, which borrowed the slender-on-top and loose-on-bottom silhouettes made famous by ravers of the era.

The season’s spare pops of color were largely channeled into various slender tank-tops, including this leopard print one shown here. It features a cotton/lycra blend, which allows it to cling to the wearer’s body.

Condition: 9/10. No significant flaws.
