Undercover SS2010 "Less But Better" Hiking Boots

$400.00

In the lead up to SS2010s “Less But Better,” Jun Takahashi declared, “In this economy, we should cut out the unnecessary.” He was speaking in reference to the three-year global recession, which the collection arrived on the heels of. The title itself was taken from German industrial designer Dieter Rams, who left a lasting impression on Jun when they crossed paths the year before. After receiving Rams’s blessing, he crafted a collection based around the design principles of Braun, the company which Rams had famously served as the Chief Design Officer for. The collection was Jun’s most stark and technical to date, abandoning the weighty fabrics and treatment techniques he often employed for more lightweight fabrics. It doubled as a personal expression for Jun, for whom running had became a large part of his daily life, which behooved him to incorporate more practical wear into his label.

These hiking boots are one of the standout pieces from the collection, and includes many signature details, including a URCR branding, vented airholes, and functional detailing including a reflective outer for visibility, and metal grips for ease removing the shoes
